Fragile cards

Cards that keep needing most of their answer.

Some cards keep needing most of their answer. A card is marked Fragile when at least 60% of its answer was shown on three of its last four tests; Wrong answers count too. Its deck’s page lists it under Fragile. Tap it to see the available options:

  • Split into 2 cards: each asks for one half. Available for plain-text answers.
  • Rewrite: edit a compatible card and start its fragile history over.
  • Leave it: take it off the fragile list for 30 days.

Image occlusion, rich Anki content and cards with several cloze blanks must be edited in Anki, then imported again. Card info explains this when in-app editing is unavailable.

Rewriting a side’s text removes recordings attached to that side because they match the old text. This also applies to the corresponding side of a reversed card. A prompt that contains only a recording keeps it. The editor does not yet let you preview, remove or choose to keep individual recordings.
